Blood Tests: A Legitimate Proof of Abrahamic Descent?
Question:
“I am investigating the Two-House B.I. Movement to see if the claims of your theology might be valid. I have a question: there are blood tests performed by the State of Israel for determining Israelite heritage so as to allow people and groups to have automatic Israeli citizenship under the Law of Return. Have you tested your claims of Israelite descendance by taking these tests? It worked for the B’nai Menashe, the group of Jewish claimants from the country of India. It worked for the Beta Yisraelis, the group of Jewish claimants from the country of Ethiopia. This test has even shown that the Cherokee of Tennessee have Israelite heritage!” -A.J.B. (A Christian minister in California)
Answer:
What is being proven by these blood tests? Has anyone actually found a genuine sample of the Patriarch Abraham’s blood to use in a legitimate comparison? Apparently this test only matches people to the blood type of a segment of modern Jews, who may be of a dramatically different racial composition than even Judahites of the time of Christ. For example, famous Biblical scholar, James Strong (of “Strong’s Concordance” fame) had this to say in the Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological, and Ecclesiastical Literature: “...by these two savage wars [Roman armies under Titus in 70 A.D. and Hadrian 133 A.D.] the Jewish population must have been effectually extirpated from the Holy Land itself...Afterward, a dreary period of 1,500 years oppression crushed in Europe all who bore the name of Israel, and Christian nations have visited on their head a crime perpetrated by a few thousand inhabitants of Jerusalem, who were not the real forefathers of the European Jews.” (ii:114) In other words, the sad irony is that the modern Jewish people as a whole have wrongly endured persecution and blame for Christ’s Crucifixion when many of them are not even racially descended from the “Jews” of Christ’s time! In fact, many modern Jews are descended from peoples such as the Khazars, Berbers, and others who adopted Judaism as a religion after the time of Christ. This important, although obscure, truth is well-known to scholars.
This has been documented, for example, in scholarly research by Dr. Paul Wexler, himself Jewish, and a Professor of Linguistics at Tel-Aviv University, who wrote on the subjects, “The Non-Jewish Origins of the Sephardic Jews,” and “The Ashkenazic Jews: A Slavo-Turkic People In Search of a Jewish Identity.” According to a review of Dr. Wexler’s research by Norman Stillman, “Sephardic Jews were not descended from the ancient Judaeans, but were primarily the posterity of Berber proselytes,” an Arabic tribe who were converted to Judaism after the time of Christ.
Judaism is a very old religion or culture of ritual, but its adherents are not of a pure “race” nor are they racially identical to the Jewish people of the time of Christ. These facts show the irony of a blood test which supposedly proves Abrahamic “racial” descent today.
